Boating this weekend

Finally the weather is good enough to go boating this weekend. We were supposed to have rain for days and then cool again, but it seems to have passed us by and we didn’t have any. Now it looks as if we can get out on the water and at least do some fishing. The water will be too cold yet to swim, but we really don’t care about that as long as we can get out there. I am soooo happy about it as are the kids and my hunny. I hope you have as great a weekend as we are going to. Doesn’t the lake look awesome?

Talk about a cold weekend

This past weekend was just miserable. It was so cold that it was a biting cold. We thought that we might have a little snow briefly, but it only flurried a little and then went away. The kids were so disappointed. At least if it had snowed they could have gone out to play in it. As it was, we ended up stuck in the house all weekend. We played games and such, but it was boring and not very fun. We all have cabin fever at this point and cannot wait for spring to get here.

Although, I look forward to the warmer weather, I am not looking forward to the storms. They always bring tornadoes and those scare me senseless. I am thankful for the basement when those storms come through, but I wish it wasn’t necessary.

Storms

These storms have really taken their toll on peoples homes. My cousin is looking for virginia replacement windows, because the last storm knocked a tree down in her yard and a few windows were broken in the house. It really scared her when it happened, because she was home alone at the time. She was luck though compared to the neighbors across the street. Half of their roof was torn off. I am just happy that she is okay.

No school again

Apparently the storm last night did a lot of damage in our county. The board of education called with a message around four this morning saying all schools and the day cares would be closed today. I haven’t been able to get any information for my area on the TV though to see what happened. I suppose I will find out eventually. Since I didn’t sleep very well last night during the storm, I ended up sleeping in really late. They probably showed the damage on the news this morning. I am certainly glad that is is over now. We were lucky with no damage to our house or yard. I can’t see anything in my neighbors yards either, so we fared well I suppose.

Winter Wonderland

I love pictures of snowy landscapes, but I love to see it in person even more. I really wish it would snow already. This winter and last winter have been miserable with just rain and up and down temperatures. I don’t mind the cold, but there is nothing to do to play without any snow at all. The kids really want some snow as well.
