Boating this weekend

Finally the weather is good enough to go boating this weekend. We were supposed to have rain for days and then cool again, but it seems to have passed us by and we didn’t have any. Now it looks as if we can get out on the water and at least do some fishing. The water will be too cold yet to swim, but we really don’t care about that as long as we can get out there. I am soooo happy about it as are the kids and my hunny. I hope you have as great a weekend as we are going to. Doesn’t the lake look awesome?

Home repair

With the advent of the spring storms that always come, I am getting prepared ahead of time. I already have all of the information I need in case something happens to the house. I found home repair grants to cover what the home owners insurance doesn’t. There are different programs available and all you have to do is find the ones in your area. We get really bad storms in our area, with high speed straight line winds as well as tornadoes, so it is always best to prepare for it before they come.

The home energy team can help with all kinds of stuff. If your electric bill is too high, they will do an energy audit to see where you are losing energy at. I have mine done every year. Usually right before winter kicks in, but it doesn’t hurt to do it before summer gets here either. You can also find energy saving solutions online to help with that as well. There are a lot of little tricks to use that will bring that bill down a bit.

A few new things

Well, I bought a few new things for the ourside of the house. I ordered personalized doormats first, because I thought up some really good sayings for them. I can’t wait to see them and see what the family and friends have to say about them. I really like to do neat stuff like that. It makes for a good conversation piece. I also decided to get a new custom personalized address plaques for on the house. I really wanted something different then we had before. I can always change them back and forth as the mood suites me.

The residential mailboxes they had were so nice that I decided to get one just in case the storms this year damage mine. Then I won’t have to go to the post office and pick up my mail while I wait for a new mailbox to come in like I had to last year. That was a definite waste of time. Every year I end up having to replace it anyway, so I might as well have a back up.

Oh so happy

The kids are ecstatic over the warming of the weather. They have been outside every day after school playing, running, and very loud. I have to just chuckle at their excitement. You would think they had been prisoners for years if you could see them. They have elicited from me a promise to go anywhere outdoors this weekend. They want to go biking or something like that. I told them I would, so long as the weather permitted. I didn’t dampen their enthusiasm by telling them it is forecasted to rain all weekend. They will find out soon enough, and I will take them biking as soon as humanly possible. Catcha later gators.

Talk about a cold weekend

This past weekend was just miserable. It was so cold that it was a biting cold. We thought that we might have a little snow briefly, but it only flurried a little and then went away. The kids were so disappointed. At least if it had snowed they could have gone out to play in it. As it was, we ended up stuck in the house all weekend. We played games and such, but it was boring and not very fun. We all have cabin fever at this point and cannot wait for spring to get here.

Although, I look forward to the warmer weather, I am not looking forward to the storms. They always bring tornadoes and those scare me senseless. I am thankful for the basement when those storms come through, but I wish it wasn’t necessary.
