Professor Randy Pausch is a man like no other I have ever met. To me, he falls right in there with the truly great human beings like Gandi and Mother Teresa. Each of them tried to teach the world how truly blessed it is and how to live and love like there’s no tomorrow. Unfortunately, there is no more tomorrows for Randy Pausch. He leaves behind a wife and three small children. What a tragedy his loss is to them but what an honor they had in having a man like him in their lives. God bless them all!!!
I would only hope that more people would go out and buy his book ‘The Last Lecture’ and try to live their lives in some small way the way he did. The world would truly be a better place if we could.
While I was looking around MSN, I came across an article about the worlds most endangered destinations. It’s a very interesting read. You can check it out at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25737162/wid=18298287. It talks about the glaciers of Europe and how they are melting and other places that are also melting. The African Lion population is diminishing too. There are many places that are slowly going away and if you want to see them, you better plan a trip to visit these places before they’re gone. We have to start taking care of our planet before all these wonderful places and animals parish for good.
I was reading about a lady that wanted to find a way to help her baby girl learn to appreciate classical music. She borrowed a camera, went into her basement with her husband, put up a black piece of cloth, put on a wash cloth puppet and made a million dollar video. Imagine that. That was the humble beginnings of the emensely popular video’s and cd’s called ‘Baby Einstein’. Amazing how she took her love for something and wanted to share it with her baby but ended up making millions. You never know what a simple thought can turn into with a little work behind it now do you?
Have you heard of the Red Hat Sociey ? My grandmother belongs to it has been having a blast with all of her lady friends that have to be at least 50 years old to join this sisterhood and be able to wear the purple clothing along with the sporting of some type of hat that is the color of red.
She is always inviting my mother to come along to one of their monthly adventures and she has gone a few times and enjoyed herself, they are all very nice and have interesting and funny stories to share with one another and they do have some fun things lined up in the future but I’m not sure my mother will attend. She just doesn’t like hats and is pretty darn set in her ways, if you know what I mean. Besides she won’t be 50 for a few more years and doesn’t like the thought of that at all. I think it’s great to help make age a little more fun.
The sock monkey of Barack Obama was cute if you ask me. The fact that everyone is screaming racist is over-reacting. Too bad the Binkley Toy Company buckled under to the pressure and had to stop producing it. The toy company made this one toy mocking Obama and should have done is made a stuffed toy to make fun of McCain, too. It would have been easy to do. I can see McCain as an old rooster. Now that would be cute too if you ask me but I don’t guess anyone did. That’s just my opinion!!!!
