Keekee Speaks Here!

Well today ended great on Wall Street.  The Dow went up almost 900 points.  Finally a good upswing but no one is dancing in the streets yet.  They’re all waiting to see if it will go back down tomorrow.  None of this is going to change until the next president takes office and we see what he’s going to do.  That’s when, hopefully, everything will start an upward turn again.  Until then, everyone is walking on eggshells and that’s typical of a presidential election where there are two new men running for president.

We have no idea what either of these two will honestly do once they’re in office.  We’ll just have to wait and see and that’s what’s going on with the economy and everything else right now.  It’s a mess, that’s for sure and I just hope that who ever it is that’s elected has a good plan to get our country back in the black instead of the red like we are now.

The Presidential race is starting into the final stretch now.  It’s getting crappy too.  All the stops are pulled out and they’re starting to pull out the petty stuff like Sarah Palin’s new $150,000 wardrobe.  I can’t believe they gave her that much money to buy clothes to begin with.  I could see maybe $10,000 but they added an extra zero to that number.

Why can’t they both just come out and stick to the problems at hand and the issues at hand?  Why can’t they run a clean campaign instead of slinging mud?  What happened to honor?  I think both candidates have good and bad points, good and bad policies but how are we going to find out what all their policies are if they can’t quit slinging so much mud and muddying the issues.  But you know what, that’s my opinion!!

To me, Gen. Colin Powell is one of the few honorable men left in Washington.  He’s also a republican but that doesn’t really matter now, does it.  He has endorsed Barack Obama.  Oh I’m sure there’s some ‘redneck good ol’ boys’ out there that will have something to say about that.  Well I don’t think for one minute it has anything to do with anything except for the fact that he’s backing who he thinks will do the best job for our country.  I don’t know yet who I’ll vote for.  I honestly think they both have their good points and their bad points but isn’t usually the way it is?  There isn’t going to be someone running that you totally agree with on everything so you just have to pick the one you feel will do the best job.  The most important thing is to VOTE.

A dear friend of mine from college is getting married.  I’m so happy for her.  She got lucky and found a great guy too.  I really think they have a wonderful shot at a good marriage.  Now the problem is what to get her as a wedding present.  I don’t want to give her the usual ‘toaster’ for her to just take back.  You know, the one thing most couples starting out could use is money to get the things they didn’t get for wedding gifts that they really need.

That settles it, I’ll get them a Visa Gift card.  That way they can go anywhere they want to get what ever they need.  It could be groceries they need.  It’s tough to stock a kitchen from scratch.  Well it’s up to them that way what they get.

Angelina Jolie has always managed to surprise us in both good and off the wall ways.  She’s an absolutely gorgeous woman with a dream life in all reality.  Well now there’s a stink about the picture of her on the cover of W magazine.  What gets me is what the stink is about.

Angelina is sitting there with her right side to the camera looking at the camera while she has one of her twins nursing on her left breast.  Now granted you can see the top of her breast but that isn’t anymore than you would see in some of the beautiful formal gowns she has worn.  The stink is that her breast is showing while she’s breastfeeding her child.  I wouldn’t have realized she even had a child on her breast had I not read about the ordeal.

Breastfeeding is the best thing a mother can do for her baby.  It makes them stronger, gives them immunities to a lot of things and research has shown that breastfed babies are better in math and science than formula fed babies.  I only hope that Angelina breastfeeding her baby will help encourage other new mothers to do the same thing.  It’s a perfectly natural thing and nothing to be ashamed of.  Shame on all the poo-pooers out there.  They must not have been breastfed and are jealous but that’s just my opinion.
