Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness. However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.
A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing
movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital. Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!!
I must admit I have met all sorts of people in my line of work but these two take the cake if you ask me.
A man, wanting to rob a downtown Bank of America, walked into the Branch and wrote this, ‘Put all your muny in this bag.’ While standing in line, waiting to give his note to the teller, he began to worry that someone had seen him write the note and might call the police before he reached the teller’s window. So he left the Bank of America and crossed the street to the Wells Fargo Bank.
After waiting a few minutes in line, he handed his note to the Wells Fargo teller. She read it and, surmising from his spelling errors that he wasn’t the brightest light in the harbor, told him that she could not accept his stickup note because it was written on a Bank of America deposit slip and that he would either have to fill out a Wells Fargo deposit slip or go back to Bank of America.
Looking somewhat defeated, the man said, ‘OK’ and left. He was arrested a few minutes later, as he was waiting in line back at Bank of America.
And then there was this guy:
A guy walked into a little corner store with a shotgun and demanded all of the cash from the cash drawer. After the cashier put the cash in a bag, the robber saw a bottle of Scotch that he wanted behind the counter on the shelf. He told the cashier to put it in the bag as well, but the cashier refused and said, ‘Because I don’t believe you are over 21.’ The robber said he was, but the clerk still refused to give it to him because she didn’t believe him.
At this point, the robber took his driver’s license out of his wallet and gave it to the clerk. The clerk looked it over and agreed that the man was in fact over 21 and she put the Scotch in the bag. The robber then ran from the store with his loot. The cashier promptly called the police and gave the name and address of the robber that he got off the license. They arrested the robber two hours later.
In my line of work, I have seen some rather strange things and some rather rare happenings. But when it comes to nature, very rarely do I get to see anything as rare as this. My aunt sent me some pictures of twin albino deer. Now the odds of just seeing one albino deer are probably mind boggling but to see twins……I can only imagine what the odds of that would be.
Behind a cafe in Grayling, Michigan, a man made a deer feeder with the ‘Browning’ logo. These twin Albinos have been coming to the feeder since they were fawns. They have been trying to capture a digital picture of them for awhile, but they arrive too late in the evening and the pictures don’t turn out. On a Friday about 10 am they arrived with their proud mother watching close by. Aren’t they absolutely beautiful?

The Stella Awards are named after 81-year-old Stella Liebeck who spilled hot coffee on herself and successfully sued the McDonald’s in New Mexico where she purchased the coffee. You remember, she took the lid off the coffee and put it between her knees while she was driving. Who would ever think one could get burned doing that, right?
That’s right; these are awards for the most outlandish lawsuits and verdicts in the U.S. You know, the kinds of cases that make you scratch your head. So keep your head scratcher handy. You may have heard of this one before but it still amazes me that someone would do something so stupid. Here’s a Stella award for you:
Mrs. Merv Grazinski, of Oklahoma, who purchased a new 32-foot Winnebago motor home. On her first trip home from an Oklahoma University football game, having driven onto the freeway, she set the cruise control at 70 mph and calmly left the driver’s seat to go to the back of the Winnebago to make herself a sandwich. Not surprisingly, the motor home left the freeway, crashed and overturned.
Also not surprisingly, Mrs. Grazinski sued Winnebago for not putting in the owner’s manual that she couldn’t actually leave the driver’s seat while the cruise control was set. The Oklahoma jury awarded her, are you sitting down, $1,750,000 PLUS a new motor home. Winnebago actually changed their manuals as a result of this suit, just in case Mrs. Grazinski has any relatives who might also buy a motor home.
You can’t fix duh-huh moments…….and now they’re profitable !!
What gets me is the government is trying to do all it can to protect us from ourselves and then the courts reward us for doing stupid things. Why? The government makes us wear our seat belts. Most states make bikers wear approved helmets. In fact, it’s now banned to smoke almost everywhere but in your own home and still the courts reward acts like this one. The courts need to wake up and smell the coffee instead of awarding money for spilling it, don’t you think? I sure do.
It seems that Europe is struggling with ice, snow and extreme temperatures too. On Monday a strong winter storm moved across Europe and covered parts of France and the United Kingdom with several inches of snow. Freezing temperatures added with snow over the past few days, have caused travel problems throughout Europe and is responsible for the deaths of 10 people.
The storm affected as far as Germany, Belgium, and parts of Northern Italy. It brought freezing, Arctic-like temperatures ranging from 23° to 14° in the United Kingdom and France, down to -24° in central Romania and what felt like -15° in Germany. Man that is cold but we are having similar problems here too.
Unfortunately forecasters predict that the freezing temperatures may be the start of a cold spell that could affect the entire continent throughout the month. I guess it’s the front that swept through here last week leaving the north under a lot of snow and terrible temperatures too.
