Flower box

Friday, May 4th, 2012

Dang it something pulled two of my flower boxes down off of the windows and broke them. I am wondering if it was raccoon’s. I know that our cat doesn’t weigh enough to pull them off of there. They were put up there sturdy too. This time I am not buying plastic window boxes either. That way they might be harder to pull off since whatever did it literally broke them off.

I really like the way they looked on the front of the house. I might even buy a windowbox for the kitchen window on the side of the house too. Then I can plant herbs in that one for cooking with and see them to take care of them daily. Not that I have a problem remembering to take care of them, but with herbs you have to be careful. They are very delicate it seems and some need more shade than flowers.

Gardens

I love flowers. I love to garden. I am planning a beautiful flower bed for my front yard as soon as the weather permits. I wish my flower garden was already on bloom so I could use them for flower bouquets for Valentines day, but since they are not I will use Serenata buy flower to send flowers to my mom and sister. I always send them something on the holidays, just to let them know how much I love them. I know that they appreciate it because they always call and thank me even though it is not necessary.

I have to figure out which flowers I want in my garden. I have a general idea of how I want the beds to go, but need to choose a theme or decide if I just want a riot of color. I love the planning part as much as the actual doing. Working in the garden is so very peaceful and a good place for me to meditate as I work the soil. If you want a good spring time hobby, then you should try gardening.

Outside

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

Well I am sprucing up the outside of the house. It serves a dual purpose. In case we move, it will make the house more appealing to buyers and if we don’t I have a very pretty outside to my house. It is a win, win situation. I am adding flower boxes to the outside first. They are so pretty and make the house look really well tended. The kids and I can plant the flowers soon as well because it has been such a mild winter. I know I shouldn’t assume that will continue but really the weather people say it will so i will go on that premise.

Window boxes are so very cute when they are in full bloom. They give the house such an old fashioned look to it that I just love it. I have to decide which style windowbox I want though and that will be hard as I really like them all. Perhaps the metal ones as they will last longer, I think.

Looking to make a nice garden special?

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

My back yard now has several plants and flowers in it.  I’m looking to make a nice garden where I can go and relax and enjoy natures beauty.  I would love to have a nice garden benches to sit on.  I don’t want something that I would have to replace in a couple of years either.  With that in mind, I think a couple of nice stone garden benches would be perfect.  That’s not something to keep up or repair.

I have seen a beautiful garden that was a memorial garden with a couple of memorial benches in it and it was just a perfect place to sit around the water garden they had to feel closer to their departed loved one.  See, that’s another good thing about stone benches, if you ever move, you can always take them with you for your new garden at your new house.  They also really add that special something to your garden that makes it stand out from all of the others too.

I love plants and flowers

My house and deck, not to mention my yard is full of flowers and plants.  Because of that, I have nice indoor planters, outdoor planters, and even a few high end planters for my living room.   Nothing makes a beautiful plant look better than a nice planter.  I’m not just going to spend my hard earned money on a plant and leave it in the ugly planter it came in, you know.

On my deck, I found the most perfect garden planters and even planted some tomatoes and squash in them.   Now when I need a tomato or in the mood for squash, I simply step out on my deck and there they are.  Pretty good idea, don’t you think?

My kitchen window looks out on my deck so I got a window box planter for there too.  Any type of decorative planter adds so much to your whole decor, inside and out and I bet your plants feel prettier too. I love my kitchen with its custom cabinets, new appliances and big window over the sink. If I had to claim a room in this house as my own, I would claim this kitchen.
