I hate storms

Tuesday, May 1st, 2012

These spring storms are scary and very damaging. Last night they took out a tree that fell on our mailbox. We have one of those big community mailboxes that everyone uses and the tree wiped it completely out. It is called a cluster mailbox. This is the third year in a row we have had to replace it from storms. The first year it flooded so bad that whatever was coming through the water knocked it over, and last year it was a tree just like this year.

I think we are going to remove the nearby trees, so this doesn’t happen again. At least it wont be from a tree falling on it. I hope they put the new cluster mailbox in soon, because I hate having to drive to the post office everyday. It is always packed and difficult to get our mail. I will have to deal with it until the new one is up though, there is not getting around that.

Our mailboxes

Thursday, December 29th, 2011

Oh boy ! Our mailboxes were run over by someone in the night, and now we have to replace them. We have a small community here with just a few streets and the mailboxes were CBU mailboxes. Now we have to shop for new ones and we have decided to split the cost among us, it is definitely cheaper that way for all involved, especially just after the Holidays. I have been looking around online for some, and seem to have found what we need.

The commercial mailboxes vary in size, however the company I am looking at custom makes them to order so we should be just fine. We will have a new Cluster Mailboxes by the first week of the new year and our mail will return to normal.

In the mean time, our mail lady is being very nice and delivering to our doors rather than make us pick up our mail from the post office. I really like our mail lady. She is so nice and friendly, and always helpful whenever we have a question and such. That is a very big change compared to the last mail man we had who was always rude and usually ignored us whenever we had a question. You never can tell about people now a days.
