The Librarian

Friday, March 22nd, 2013

I love these movies. Right now they are playing for free OnDemand and I wish they would make another one. They came out at the same time as the National Treasure movies, but are infintely better in my view. My dream job is that of a “regular” librarian, because I really love books. I cannot gete enough of them. I love to read and do so constantly.

Movie night

Sunday, November 18th, 2012

Have you been to the movies lately? I have seen a couple of movies at the theater this year, but have rented more from home. The rising costs of going to the theater are prohibitive. We made the decision to purchase a large flat screen TV and rent movies from the On Demand menu with the cable company. We are much more comfortable in our own home and the snacks cost way less as well. This allows us to have more quality family time then we were able to have before and still watch the latest movies.

On Demand frequently has movies that are not yet in the theater, or are in the theater at the same time. We love that about our cable company. Also, we can watch the movie for twenty four hours or more. Depending on the movie, sometimes they are available for to days instead of just one. We love our movie nights now, but every now and then we still need a theater fix. We try to keep those down to about twice a year and we can see many more movies that way. We haven’t seen Chimpanzee yet, so I think this week I will rent that one for the kids.

Movies this weekend

Friday, October 12th, 2012

I think with the rainy weather, I will take the kids to the movies this weekend. There are a couple that they want to see, but I believe that we will probably see Frankenweenie in 3D. It will be fun to see for the entire family and not scary enough to give the smaller children nightmares. I will let you know how the movies is of course, after we go see it.

LOTR part two

Tuesday, July 10th, 2012

I have been watching Lord of the Rings part two and even after all of these years, I cannot get enough of these movies. I love the battles scenes and have always loved Tolkien. I read the books when I was in school like most everyone I know. I have encouraged my kids to read the books and not just rely on movies. Unlike these movies, most of them don’t stick to the original book or cannot include so much of the content that it just isn’t the same.
